I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s the best hostel in Perth. Rooms are very clean and tidy. I’ve stayed in all types of rooms and all are great. It’s a nice balance between social and peaceful time. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Mel and Taylor who are fantastic.

This hostel is quite unique, converted from an old prison, though its location is a bit inconvenient due to a steep hill nearby. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The bunk beds are somewhat unstable, and movement on the top bunk can affect the bottom bunk.

Rooms were clean and fresh. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Located just 2 mins walk from the markets. Would definitely recommend as it’s an experience and a place to stay, so much history and interesting stories about the prison.

I nice stay in Freemantle. All the guests are travellers basically. Big kitchen. The usual standard for a dorm. Bags everywhere. But sheets clean, and everyone is respectful. Affordable prices too compared to Perth CBD.

Very beautiful architecture! So glad that part of the prison got transformed into hostel, gives the building a new purpose and offers education opportunity while travelling. The commons areas are amazing and they are a lot and spread throughout the property (so you can always find a quiet or social spot). Big equipped kitchen. The 4 people dorm I’ve been is was nice and spacious, only down side was the mattress (you could feel the springs).

As always, the YHA is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms may be simple but they're pristine. Huge kitchen that is well equipped, with free pancakes on Sunday mornings. Laundry facilities are great - 3 washers and 3 dryers. Plus the location is perfect for exploring Fremantle. We got a family room with ensuite, which also had a little bar fridge in the room.

Lovely private family room, very comfortable and quiet. We had our own bathroom and mini fridge. This yha is very conveniently located and the receptionist gave us perfect tips for restaurants. There were 3 of us in the room and plenty of space for our luggage and packing space. We highly recommend this for reasonably priced and interesting accommodation in Fremantle. It’s very interesting to read the history on the walls and to feel the prison feel.
